Groupon Voucher(s) - How it Works


WHAT'S INCLUDED
As a family owned and operated business, we at Transfer Home Movies pride ourselves in no hidden charges. With us, there are no hidden costs for shipping, longer videotapes, or recurring subscription fees.

Your Groupon Voucher(s) include the Digitize and Transfer process for your videotapes as well as all shipping costs associated with your order. This includes Transfer Home Movies shipping you an empty "Memories Box", the return shipping to our facility with the box full of your memories, and the shipping of your completed order back to you.

Each individual videotape will be converted into its own digital (MP4) file. During the Transfer process, all of the individual digital files will be put on a thumbdrive.
(ex. 10 videotapes = 10 digital MP4 files on 1 thumbdrive)

ADMINISTRATION FEE
When redeeming your Groupon Voucher(s) and completing your order on our website, a $25 administration fee will be added to your cart. The administration fee is charged per project and multiple Groupon Vouchers can be used for the same videotape project (ex. use 3 vouchers on one videotape project and only pay the $25 administration fee once).

The administration fee is added to all orders placed with Transfer Home Movies and includes:

‎‎ ‎ ‎ • Dedicated Memories Expert - Upon finalizing your order, you will be assigned a dedicated "Memories Expert" who will work with you throughout the process. 

‎‎ ‎ ‎ • Preparing - Your "Memories Expert" will facilitate getting a "Memories Box" to you, prepare your prepaid return label for when your "Memories Box" is filled, and complete the process of returning your completed order to you.

‎‎ ‎ ‎ • Processing - When your "Memories Box" is received, your Memories Expert will catalogue, organize, and prepare your videotapes for the "Digitize and Transfer" process

‎‎ ‎ ‎ • Communicating - Throughout the entire process, your dedicated Memories Expert will keep you updated on the progress of your order via text and/or email and will contact with any questions.


STEP 1: COLLECT AND PREPARE

• Gather all of your memories and purchase your Groupon Voucher(s), then place your order on our simple to use Groupon redemption webpage creating a worry free shopping experience. A $25 administration fee is added to all orders.

• Whether you want to enjoy your memories on your tv at home, your computer, your mobile device, or on social media, you can customize your order to fit your needs.

• To simplify the process, a "Memories Box" comes shipped to you along with detailed instructions and a prepaid shipping label for you to send your filled "Memories Box" back to Transfer Home Movies. We make it easy for you to get us your memories. :-)


STEP 2: SHIP OR DROP OFF
• Once your "Memories Box" is filled, using the provided instructions, you can schedule a free pick up with USPS, find a convenient USPS location for drop off, or schedule an in-person drop off appointment at our office.

• Your USPS shipment includes full package tracking and basic shipping insurance.


STEP 3: DIGITIZE AND TRANSFER
• When we receive your "Memories Box", you will be assigned a dedicated Memories Expert who will catalogue, organize, and prepare your order for the "Digitize and Transfer" process. Your dedicated Memories Expert will contact you with any questions about your order.

• Throughout the "Digitize and Transfer" process, we take great care of your memories as if they are our own. This process can take 10-12 weeks. Expedited turnaround time is available.

• Your dedicated Memories Expert will notify you once your order is completed and will complete the process of returning your completed order to you. Full package tracking and basic shipping insurance is included.

• Your original memories will be returned to you along with your new and modern media created through our "Digitize and Transfer" process.

DO I HAVE TO PAY FOR SHIPPING?
NO!

Unlike our competitors, there is no charge for shipping.

Your Groupon Voucher includes all shipping costs associated with your order. This includes Transfer Home Movies shipping you an empty "Memories Box", the return shipping to our facility with the box full of your memories, and the shipping of your completed order back to you.

CAN I REDEEM MULTIPLE GROUPON VOUCHERS TOGETHER?
YES!

Unlike our competitors who make you pay for a voucher that includes more videotapes than you have, Transfer Home Movies offers Groupon vouchers for videotapes that are available in quantities of 1, 3, 5, 10, 20, and 50. You can buy as many vouchers as you would like, mix and match, and use multiple vouchers to get to the exact quantity you need without paying for a voucher that includes more tapes than you have.

We handle projects of all sizes. We have had projects that include a single memory or thousands of memories and everything in between. There is no such thing as a project too big or too small.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY PROJECT?

Project completion can take up to 12 weeks. Expedited services (4-6 weeks) are available for $25.

DO MY ORIGINAL MEMORIES GET RETURNED TO ME?
Yes, your original memories are returned to you along with the new modern useable media your digitized memories were transferred to.

ONCE YOU DIGITIZE MY MEMORIES, WHAT CAN YOU TRANSFER THEM TO?
One thumbdrive is included with your Groupon Voucher(s) and will contain an entire set of separate digital (MP4) files for every videotape. When placing your order, you will be prompted to choose if you would like DVDs and/or additional thumbdrives. You get to choose, so you have the end products that fit your needs.

HOW ARE MY THUMBDRIVES AND DVDS DELIVERED?
Each thumbdrive and DVD is packaged separately in it’s own sleeve.

DO MY ORIGINAL VIDEOTAPES GET RETURNED TO ME?

Yes, after the digitize and transfer process, your original videotapes are returned to you along with your included thumbdrive and any additional thumbdrives or DVDs you add to your order.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO COMPLETE MY PROJECT?
Project completion can take up to 10-12 weeks. Expedited service of 4-6 weeks is available.

WHAT IF MY TAPES ARE BLANK?
If your Memories Expert finds a blank tape, you will be notified and you will receive a credit for that tape can be applied towards future orders. All credits are valid for 6 months from the date they are issued.

WHAT IF MY VIDEOTAPE IS DAMAGED AND NEEDS REPAIR?
Transfer Home Movies has the ability to repair videotapes at a cost of $15 per videotape. Repairs options are listed on our Groupon redemption webpage.

If during the Digitize process, Transfer Home Movies finds a videotape that requires repair, your dedicated Memories Expert will contact you.

WHAT COMES ON MY THUMBDRIVE?
Each videotape will be digitized to its own individual “MP4” file. This is a universal video file type that will play on all computers, smartphones, and tablets, as well as any smart TVs that have the capability to play video. A thumbdrive holds multiple MP4 files and the number of videos on each thumbdrive is based on the size of the files.
(ex. 10 videotapes = 10 digital MP4 files on 1 thumbdrive)

WHAT COMES ON MY DVD?
If DVDs are added to your order, we will Transfer each videotape to its own individual DVD. Since sometimes it is unclear what is on a videotape, we have come to find that our customers appreciate them all being separated so each tape is placed on its very own DVD. Your DVDs can be played in any standard DVD player, Bluray player, or computer with a DVD drive (and DVD viewing software).

HOW ARE MY THUMBDRIVES AND DVDS DELIVERED?
Each thumbdrive and DVD is packaged separately in it’s own sleeve.

HOW MANY HOURS FIT ON A DVD?
DVDs have the ability to hold up to 6 hours of footage on one DVD. Since almost all videotapes are 6 hours long or less, this works out well for our customers. Rare Videotapes that are longer than 6 hours may be split onto two DVDs.

DOES IT COST EXTRA IF MY TAPE IS REALLY LONG?
Unlike our competitors, we do not charge additional for longer videotapes. While some companies charge a certain price for the first hour and additional after that, we have just one price, no matter the length.

DO THE DVDS GET RETURNED TO ME WITH CHAPTERS?
We do not chapter the DVDs. DVD players have a fast forward feature that allows you skip through a DVD rather quickly. 

WILL YOU ENHANCE AND IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF MY VIDEOTAPES?
We do not enhance the quality of videotapes. Since videotapes are analog, there is no method to enhance the quality that would be affordable to the average consumer. 

CAN YOU DIGITIZE AND TRANSFER RECORDED TV SHOWS OR HOLLYWOOD MOVIES?
It is legal to make digital backups of any Hollywood movies that you own and even view them in the new format. Unfortunately, while it is legal to do so, there is “copyright protection” embedded in most Hollywood movie videotapes that prevents our equipment from doing the work. Often times, it is cheaper to purchase the digital download or buy the DVD online. We have never had any problems with the Digitize and Transfer process with TV Shows.
